REMOVE SILENCE changed? Having an issue.

Hi everyone,

I'm doing something I've done many times, albeit, I haven't done in a while. I'm using 'remove silence' as the first step in cleaning up drum parts.  In this case, specifically a kick drum.

In the screenshot, you can see that the kick transients are very much different from snare, and I want to remove all the snare (and lower amplitude noise) in a region. Then I have all my kicks cut up, and can manually fine tune on certain regions that needed a little finesse. 

But I can't seem to adjust the settings so that only the kicks remain. I'm positive I've done this before. 

Am I sleeping? Did my brains cells go on vacation? Or did something in the strip silence -> remove silence change how the function works?

Raise the threshold until you can see only the kick remain as regions. Then if needed use the pre-attack and post-release to make sure you're not cutting the attack or release of the kicks.

gosh, I feel like a dope. 

I wasn't adjusting the second decimal in minimum time to accept as silence. Maybe I just hadn't worked at this tempo before.

Great, good to hear you figured it out!

When all else fails, I generally try extreme values for each parameter until I can see something change... 😆
