Ideally it is more smart to save some 200$ more and get the oldest version compatible with Logic Remote or Metagrid. So the only thing that is left, is to focus on the positive and good features it has and ask if someone found a smart use for the Ipad in the studio workflow? And which are the apps that might "save" it? And is ther any hpe for an interesting hack or new app that helps "boosting" the Ipad 1?
