sunbrother Posted October 13, 2023 Share Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) I think there was an autosave regression with third-party AUs somewhere around 10.7.8 or so. There have been some threads alluding to it here and here, then I made these steps after seeing it confirmed in general here. It seems to be an issue exclusive to M1 Native. So far I can't make it happen in Rosetta. This can be observed easily by the following steps: - Set up Autosave - Open Lil Nas X Demo Project - Save it (in my case to an internal drive) - Open any plugin GUI, then make a change to a parameter and immediately press CMD+S to save. - Repeat the last step a few times - Add ~20 tracks with a single instance of Waves Q8 (only using because it's so common) - open one of the instances - Make a change and then immediately press CMD+S to save - Repeat the last step a few times Somewhere around 25% of the times I do that it will beachball for about 20 seconds. The more instances of third party AUs you have, the worse this gets. I have some mixes where it takes 2 minutes to do this. Perhaps the save I triggered was waiting for an Autosave to finish? Probably won't test further unless I hear back from Apple. Below are the only autosave settings I'm aware of. I haven't changed them since I switched to Logic years ago. Just FYI there are no user-configurable auto save settings in Logic's Settings dialog. Auto Backup is something completely different.
