Ryan Klesh
-Currently using Logic Pro X 10.7.4 and macOS Monterey 12.7- I purchased some royalty-free drum samples a while back (wav). I saved them all to my desktop and at first had no problem simply dragging them into Logic. Now they don't seem to drag in. Like Logic won't accept them. Sort of driving me nuts I can't figure out why this might be, despite extensive forum surfing. Any insights?
fisherking
have you rebooted?
Ryan Klesh
Yep. Was using Big Sur and someone suggested I upgrade to Monterey. So I did that, and it involved rebooting.

What happens when you try to add them using the Add Audio File function (or the Pencil Tool on an Audio track)?
Solution wonshu Posted October 19, 2023 Solution Share Posted October 19, 2023 My guess is that you have iCloud sync for Desktop & Documents switched on and those files aren't actually on your drive, but oh so conveniently off-loaded to the cloud. Try to copy the samples to an external drive. Avoid working with anything Logic related in automatically synced folders.

Na I was just noting that I did in fact reboot, when making the change from Big Sur to Monterey. The problem was first in Big Sur, and the upgrade to Monterey didn't solve it. Good call though.

This was indeed the issue. Such a minor thing, thanks for pointing this out to me! You have literally made my existence lighter on this day.
