Soundsauca
I've got an older project (not that old mind) that loaded fine in Logic on Ventura. I tried to load it with Sonoma today and it just hung. It contains a plugin that's not available on my new system. This isn't normally an issue but it just beachballs. Any ideas?! Solution Jordi Torres Posted October 22, 2023 Solution Share Posted October 22, 2023 Hi Sounsauca, There's actually 2 issues: The missing plugin as you mention. A Multi-Instrument (or plain Instrument) object in the MIDI Environment that is set to output to a device port that is no longer available I suggest you quit Logic and load the project with Core Audio disabled (hold down the Control key as you open the project file in question from the Finder). This will most likely prevent the hanging and allow you to take care of both issues. J.
des99
And probably the actual issue that's hanging your project is neither of those two issues, but some other problem, likely plugin related... Soundsauca
Hi @Jordi Torres & @des99. Thanks both for your answers. Disabling core audio and unloading the mininova plugin did the trick. The plugin isn't present on my new machine due to age etc. Interesting that it might be caused by another plugin. I'll keep an eye out if it happens again and maybe have a look through if there's anything I don't need as in legacy plugins.
