Nunstummy
I have 601 plugins, according to Logic. Other than scanning and validating the plugins whenever something changes, does having so many 3rd party plugins affect the performance of Logic 10.7? fisherking
think it just affects load time. it's how many you use in a project that matters most. also, i checked with apple, and the correct number of 'too many' is 37, so basically, you're over by a few... 🤔
Rolo Tomasi
I was just thinking about this but in a different way, I have about 300 plugins and 95% of them pretty much do the same thing. The only native Logic plugins I use are probably EQ, comp, and Alchemy.
Nunstummy
The majority of the 601 are from the NI Komplete 14 bundle, Arturia V Collection 9, UAD plugins, Korg Collection, Melda, and a few other suites or bundles. Aside from the virtual instruments / synths in those bundles, there’s only about 70 individual plugins that I used in the last year. Some I only used once, in 1 song. I’m getting ready to do a purge, but unless I’m willing to give up one of those major vendor ‘bundles’ I fear I’ll only be deleting 50 - 60 plugins. Which begs the question, is 500 that much better than 601?
