Walnut
Hi, I have an old song that I did the vocals for and I no longer have access to the original files. I have tried an online vocal remover for free and got ok results but they are not perfect. Any recommendations? Or is there anyone here who wants to take this challenge? if so, I can email the file please reach me at {email hidden} Thank you, Dallon
David Nahmani
We don't allow publishing emails for security reasons, but people can hover your avatar on the left and click the "Message" button to send you a private message. Meanwhile there are now many AI tools to isolate instruments in a mix, that's how they isolated John Lennon to produce that last Beatles song that came out a couple of weeks ago (now and then). Have you tried lalal.ai? https://www.lalal.ai/

It does a pretty good job but it's not "perfect" you can hear strange artifacts and random frequencies
David Nahmani
Yes I don't believe that any of these tools can consistently yield a perfect result... yet.
loukash
Now that I have iZotope RX 10 Advanced, its Music Rebalance plugin is amazing! Here a quick example I just made with a random audio track ripped from a CD into my iTunes library. original: https://external.loukash.com/logicprohelp_thisgrooveisbad_voc.mp3 "Look mom, no vocals": https://external.loukash.com/logicprohelp_thisgrooveisbad_novoc.mp3

jmob
Ultimate vocal remover is what you want. It's free and incredibly powerful. The results can be nothing short of astonishing.

Same section as the above RX10 example: https://external.loukash.com/logicprohelp_thisgrooveisbad_uvr.mp3 Not bad for free beer! Although the RX version sounds a bit more "musical" to me, with less artifacts in the high frequences. (Disclaimer: with 56 years, my hearing range is already somewhat limited so I can't hear what exactly happens above 12 kHz anymore. I only see it on the spectrogram.) The settings in RX10 were Quality: Best, Separation: 38 (default). All examples were done using PCM16 audio, only the final export for posting here was 128kbps MP3. I would definitely check out the other algos and download the latest ones within the app. In my opinion, they are superior to anything rx10 has to offer. Stem separation is at least as good as any paid service and sometimes, rivals them

For now the way I see it, the softwares that I have seen, have had decent results and would work fine for using samples and then applying filters etc. But to have the song sound perfect (which is my goal) I just think the technology is not there yet. There is no such thing as perfect in music. If you’re looking for perfect and you are using stem separators you are never gonna get what you were looking for
