Recording audio from another computer as the input source

The title might not be the best way to describe my question so let me explain...

I've built myself a really nice Hackintosh running Ventura perfectly. I've also been given access to a DiGiGrid D and an IOX which I would like to use for the preamps (they're brilliant!). In theory this is a simple setup with the use of either Soundgrid Studio or Qrec. In reality, this is the one downside to the Hack. It doesn't like it at all. I'm not looking for help with this, believe me I've tried it all.

What I am exploring though and would value some thoughts on, is running the DiGiGrid system on my Macbook (which I know works) and somehow (cue you geniuses) route the output of that audio into Logic on my Hack. Ideally still in multitrack form. Is there a feasible way or am I dreaming here?

Thanks

Mark

Erm... two audio interfaces, output of interface one (MacBook) connected to input of interface two (Hack)?

I was wondering if there might be a solution via a network of sorts.

Thanks for the clarification. I know of no multi-channel, realtime solution to transfer audio streams via Ethernet between computers though (which doesn't necessarily mean there isn't any, maybe someone else on the forum can help).

That would require two 8/10 input interfaces

Actually it would require one such interface, and one with 8 (10?) outputs. Oftentimes lower priced audio interfaces have higher number of outputs that inputs. If you have 600 $ to spare, you could even go for two Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 and use the ADAT connection (saving you one D/A A/D step which potentially slightly degrades audio quality).

The IOX will be the main input device with 8 useable the mic pres, and the DiGiGrid D gives another two mic pres (10 ins total) and would be the main output to my monitors. The IOX does have a bunch of line outs including 4 heaphone outs but not quite the solution for this context. Especially as I would still need an additional interface with up to 10 ins.

I'm convinced there's a network solution out there...

AUNetSend/Receive, perhaps?
A single instance is stereo only, but you can set up as many named instances as you need.
To route audio directly from your interface via Bonjour network, the AU Lab app should suffice:
apple.com/apple-music/apple-digital-masters

I haven't used it this way yet but I use AUNetSend since many years to send audio from Logic to Zynaptiq (formerly Audiofile) Spectre.
