miros
Hello everyone, I have a very serious problem with logic! I have a fairly large project with around a hundred active tracks and over 1000 midi regions and some audio. When I want to move regions in bulk (1064) with the automations that go with logic crashes. it opens the window for me to ask me if I want to move the automations, I confirm and presto multicolored wheel, logic no longer responds. I have waiting more 30' . So I have to force the app to quit! " Move along, there's nothing to see " I've never had a similar problem before (I didn't have such a big project), otherwise apart from that everything works fine: editing, recording playback etc... - Logic Pro 10.8.1 (under Rosetta) M2 32GB ram Ventura - To be clear, I restarted logic, opened a new blank project and created a midi region with a little volume automation and I tried the copy 1000 times and boom, logic stopped responding for 10 minutes "but did the job. anyway "... So limitation or bug??? The experts here thank you for your insight Sincerely
des99
It is a known thing that Logic's editing/graphical performance decreases when you have a lot of regions, unfortunately. The workaround is to consolidate regions and not work with so many (putting them into folders can also help).
Solution miros Posted December 25, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted December 25, 2023 hello, I found a solution that does the job: I insert a silence and my regions move to the right without lag and this on a significant project. Cheers !

Or created an empty midi (or audio) track and inserted an empty region in ?
miros
Hi, select a zone with locators and insert a silence (Ctrl - Command - Z) that's all 🙂 Edited December 25, 2023 by miros
