Gargamel
Hi all, I have some old projects where I relied on prerecorded drum loops (all drums on the same track). I would like to transform these into MIDI, do you have any tips on how to this in an efficient way? best- Wilhelm
oscwilde
Kinda depends on what you want to achieve, but here's a couple of ways: https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/logicpro/lgcp0af84e31/mac https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/logicpro/lgcpc6df7141/mac
David Nahmani
The quickest way is probably to select the track containing your audio loops and then choose Track > Replace or Double Drum Track.

Thank you, I'll try that. I think the manual suggests this only works with single drums, but I might have misunderstood. It's meant to be used with single drums because the ultimate goal is to use the same sample for all the hits, but once you have a MIDI region, you can move those notes around to have them trigger different sounds. Another thing you could try is to open the audio region in the Audio File editor, turn on Flex Pitch, and then choose Edit > Create MIDI Track from Flex Pitch data, which will attempt to detect the "pitch" of each drum hit and yield a different MIDI note for each sound.
