phil.fsbcglobal.net
I was thinking to connect the aura tone speaker to my monitor controller with a "y" cable. But I've read that this can damage the speaker. Wondering if anyone has had any problems with this or would it be better to just send a mono signal to one cable? Solution David Nahmani Posted January 29 Solution Share Posted January 29 How are you going to power the Auratone? I would personally route a mono output from Logic Pro to the amp, however I can't see why a Y cable would damage the speaker.
fuzzfilth
You're not trying to sum two outputs to mono with that Y-cable, are you ? This will put much load on the two outputs, which always try their best to keep their respective output signals true to their input signals, but can't, as the other output tries to push their version of truth back into them. This load may well lead to distortion. As David said, use a mono output that carries the sum of L+R.
phil.fsbcglobal.net
The speaker I'm planning to get is an active speaker, and I think I'll stick to a mono output. Thanks for the help.
