globet Posted January 29 Share Posted January 29 We have a client who wants to release a bootleg remix of a rap song. Is there a way to get a ISRC number for a remix song? Music distribution services like CD Baby or DistroKid will get you the ISRC but they don’t allow remixes to be uploaded. fisherking Posted January 29 Share Posted January 29 ppl release remixes all the time thru distribution, but the releases are, of course, legitimate. not sure how you'd get an ISRC # for a 'bootleg' remix. soundcloud? youtube? (altho in both cases you could get shut down for copyright infringement). still, maybe someone else here has an idea; or try asking this on reddit (as this is, after all, a logic-centric forum). YouTube and SoundCloud are full of remixes that did not get a license from the original creator and / or affiliate companies but some of those “bootleg” remixes can still be recognized by Shazam?
