globet
Came across many YouTube and Instagram posts trying to sell a "mixing template". What exactly are they selling? Just the sequences of Bus sends, Aux channel and plugins used that can make mixing easier? This is too project specific to be made into a template? David Nahmani
While I'm not a huge fan of mixing templates, because many mixing decisions are going to be widely different from project to project, a template can already have some preset routing for typical tasks, for example drum groups with parallel compression, individual instrument groups with glue compression and preset EQ, reverb busses, etc etc. I believe it's much better to make your own template (if you like using template that is) and adding to it as you learn new techniques that you feel are useful to your mixing technique. That way at least you know why you're inserting a plug-in somewhere or sending a channel strip to a bus.
