rycwdstn
Hi all - I have recorded a part using Logic's Vintage B3. I am trying to adjust velocity in the Piano Roll Window using the Velocity Tool. All of the notes are responsive, as I would expect, except for one... C4. The color changes, but the change is not audible. I have researched the problem and been advised to check the Velocity settings in the Track Inspector. They are as I believe they should be, that is, Key Limit: C2 G8, and Vel Limit: 0 - 127. I have also tried removing and then replacing the C4 note, but it still will not respond to the Velocity Tool. I have also exited and relaunched the project, and even restarted the computer, to no avail. Has anyone come across this and have a solution? I imagine, as is often the case, that I am missing something obvious, but I am also stumped. Thanks!
David Nahmani
You should hear a difference in the attack of the sound? Try raising the Velocity knob all the way up under 'Options'?
rycwdstn
Thank you, David. That's something I did not know about. But it didn't work. Also, I can detect no difference in the attack of the note either, as I adjust. All the other notes do respond (although this is the highest one in the part). David Nahmani
Could you share a simple project with only the Vintage B3 and a single MIDI region containing multiple C4 notes at different velocities so that one of us could have a look/listen?
rycwdstn
Thanks for this suggestion and offer, David. I recorded and tested in just that way right now, and it did indeed work. The velocity tool accomplished a subtle change (I forgot to dial up velocity in the B3's options, which may have increased the effect of the tool, and I will try that, too). Also, I did hear a sharpening of the attack as velocity increased. It seems unlikely, but is it possible that a given project could be corrupted in a way that would cause this only on that project? As I can see that everything is working in general as it should, and also I have to leave for work now, I'm going to let it go. Thanks as always for your help! I am wondering about the possibility of a corrupted project, though, if you could please let me know your opinion. Thanks again.
