globet
Putting a Gain plugin on Stereo Out and switch on Mono, Statement #1 “This makes the whole track in Mono and makes you focus on specific areas of the mix” Statement #2 “after when you pan in Stereo, you will have more “space”” What are some of the benefits of mixing the track in Mono? Thanks guys! Edited March 16 by globet
fuzzfilth
Yes, it's a tried and proven mixing strategy. One that's even older is: Set all faders so all tracks are equally loud. Now create your mix balance with EQ alone. This way you a) have more room to manoeuvre with your faders and b) you learn EQ ten times quicker.
David Nahmani
Every time you take away one parameter from your mix, you can better focus on the other parameters. So if you take away the stereo image, you can better focus on level balance, frequency spectrum and dynamics for example.

Loudness metering on every track?
fuzzfilth
Your overthinking it. It's an exercise. Listen. Make the guitar as loud as the keyboard. Then try to separate them by EQ. 1
