Stereo instrument + gain plugin in mono > Bounce file = stereo?!

Hi everyone,

I opened a stereo plugin, set a gain plugin and enabled mono in the gain plugin. Then I bounces to check if it is really mono. I checked the bounce in SPEK and in Quicktime and both say it is a stereo file!  How come?

Because you bounced the Stereo-Out, which will always give you a two-channel file. Both channels will be identical, thus mono.

If you want a one-channel mono file, you click the mono/stereo button on the Stereo-Out to mono, then click the Bounce button.

Note that the Bounce... key command still creates a two-channel file, so the click is mandatory.
