Cherubini
Score editing is cool but i am new to logic and there is probably something i am doing wrong. i select a quarter note and begin placing them on the staff. then i select an 8th note and try to place that on the staff. the 8th note flashes while i am holding the mouse down, but after i release, a quarter note appears on the staff. is there a way i can edit a note that is already placed? so that i can change it to another note or change it fron natural to sharp(appearing as natural or sharp also automaticly happends)

Beer Moth
If you turn interpretation off you'll see them as 8ths. When placing the notes they snap to a diatonic not.Let go and regrab to drag to desired chromatic. You can change the length in the piano roll (matrix). You can adjust interpretation for the whole region or individual notes.
Cherubini
i tried it, but it didnt work. please forgive my nubeness, but is there a way to turn interpretation off by default? i cant think of a reason why you would want the software to decide what notes you want? seems odd to me. thanks! ~C
Beer Moth
If you have a bunch of notes you've played in semi staccato they would appear as,say, semi quavers(16s) and semiquaver rests if interpretation is off instead of quavers (8s) with no rests which is much more readable and real worldly. There are, however,of course, circumstances in which it is desirable, and hence the override option in Attributes.
