Darius Kedros
Using Mainstage for FOH live sound. I am trying to get mainstage running as a FOH live sound fx unit and compression unit. But...Even with all input channels muted in mainstage the dry signal continues to come through the outputs 1&2. I am using a Macbook Pro with an RME Fireface 400 interface. Any clues as to why would be gratefully appreciated.
Darius Kedros
Wow i'm overwhelmed by the sheer number of responses?????? Anyway i've sorted it by simply starting a whole new concert from scratch. I guess it was just a glitch in the program. However i'm having problems with crashes & drop outs even when i set the latency to 64 and have the i/o safety buffer switched on. I'm mixing and dubbing up Red Snapper live. In Mainstage i'm running 1 mono audio track (from the live kik channel) that triggers bass drum samples in AP Trigger. 1 audio track (Kick Sn & Hat from an aux on the mixing desk) that i'm compressing and sometimes switching in the Logic filter (this sometimes causes drop outs when i take it out of bypass). And a stereo audio track that is an insert of the entire FOH desk mix with no plug ins (so that the latency is equal across everything i hear). Have done 4 gigs with mixed results. 2 good shows, 2 that have gone very wrong! I have a Mac book Pro with this spec; Processor- 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 duo. Memory- 3 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. Are my problems due to RAM?
Darius Kedros
Ok so i've installed the maximum of 4 gig of RAM. Lets see what happens tomorrow in Prague....
Darius Kedros
Prague went well. Almost without a glitch ...almost! After about 1 hour the signal on everything dropped out for about a quarter of a second. I was using a buffer of 64. Bad news for Mainstage. Judging by other user comments the program needs some TLC ASAP before it loses all credibility. One last try...Russia in a week. Will increase the buffer further, to 128. Lets see what happens. Am i talking to myself...ha ha.

That RME total mix program is so hard to see what is routed to what... at least for me. -r
