Files opened in Sample Editor not added to in Audio Window

In L6, any file opened in the Sample Editor -for instance, when double-clicking on the "E" in Zone Edit of the EXS24 Instrument Editor - were automatically added to the Audio Window.

 

I often found this pretty useful, in particular as an easy way to "grab" Audio files (i.e samples) used in an EXS Instrument. I could then drag the files from the Audio to the Arrange window, and never had to navigate around the Finder to add the files.

 

But this doesn't happen any more in L7,it seems. Or does anybody know different?
