No Rewire but IAC Driver? Redmatica? Ideas?

Ok, so I might just be naive, but I'm wondering if this is possible. I used a lot of modified reason patches and refills I found online for my bands last album. (pre mainstage) Sounds that either I can't replicate without a great deal of pain or I just have a general lack of energy to set it up. However, I really like the idea of Mainstage and I've put together what I like to think is a great layout.

I know rewire does not work in Mainstage, but is there a way to take advantage of the IAC driver to get it in my setup? I also recently discovered Soundflower as a way to get the sound over, but I want to control it from Mainstage as well. Any ideas?

My other idea was to sample everything and put it into the EXS24. I checked out the redmatica auto sampler. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey, I think your best bet is to use Auto Sampler. It works very well and will easily rebuild most, if not all of your Reason instruments into expressive, accurate sampled copies. I'm astonished at how well Auto Sampler works. Kudos to Redmatica.

You could probably hack your way to using IAC and Soundflower, but you won't get the kind of performance and reliability that you really want in a live scenario.

To make the hack work, you'll need the free midiO audio unit plug-in (for adding MIDI out), IAC and Soundflower.

This may be a long shot....

I was playing around in Main Stage and saved a channel strip setting (gave it a new name too). I opened Logic and saw the Channel strip I saved from mainstage.

Soooo.... In Logic - try saving a channel strip setting that has your external patches. See if it will work in Main Stage as well.
