David Robinson Posted February 24, 2006 Share Posted February 24, 2006 we've had our problems with the os of the day. would it be a wise move by apple to develop a dedicated os for pro apps only? no more bugs, conflicts or crashes. much higher standard for third party development. no widgets, ical, etc. driver standardization from/for third parties. higher integration of logic into the os. (a re-write?) universal platform - no software/hardware obsolesence. no bells, no whistles - just a robust, optimized platform. comments please......... Imagine just being able to choose a multimedia template in "system preferences" that your user account will always boot. That would rock! Apparently the potential exists for the new Intel processors (or their heirs) to run multiple OS simultaneously . . . so it might make sense at some point to let "pro" aps run in their own OS environments (pun intended). BeOS and Emagic were getting together to produce such an OS for Logic. Then BeOS went bye bye and Apple jumped in. That would have been totaly cool. BeOS/Logic.
