hackerac
Hey everyone. I'm very new to Logic Studio and Mainstage, so bear with me. I tried to use a cheap ADC (the $40 ones with the USB on one end of the cable and a 1/4 on the other with a a small ADC chip inline) with Mainstage. All the acoustic effects are fine, but with any of the guitar amp and pedal effects I get a noise pumping about three times a second. Not sure if its a compressor pumping or what. I turned off teh compressor and it got louder, so I don't know. Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm trying to use this thing on stage this weekend!!! David Nahmani
Does the problem disappear if you plug the guitar straight into the built-in input of your mac? That would point to your cheap ADC being the culprit. hackerac
Do you mean plug my guitar straight into the mic input of my mac? I didn't know you could do this. I have a 13" Macbook Aluminum 2.0GHz and Logic Studio 8.
hackerac
Also, do I get better sound quality if I use a USB box as my output (say a Presonus AudioBox) than if I use my headphone out? What is the typical way to get my output from my mac to the mixing board in the PA? I'm trying to use this as an electric guitar / acoustic guitar / mandolin all-in-one effects unit while playing live.
