Cirj Posted July 26, 2009 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Hi, Does anyone know if you can do any sort of midi looping with the new mainstage? For me that would make it an Ableton Live replacement. Or perhaps a workaround? I'm currently using mainstage 1 to route audio and midi, but this is less than ldeal for me. I know you can now record and loop audio, but is there a way to record and loop midi to pay synth loops? Obv ultrabeat can be used to create switcheable loops, but I mean for the other software isntruments....thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, you can feed the output of a channel strip with any software instrument into an aux on the same level (new in MS2), which contains the looper effect (also new in MS2). Does this help? Cirj Posted July 26, 2009 Author Share Posted July 26, 2009 ha well yes and no! it helps but its disappointing! recording audio loops from midi is a good work around so thanks for that. some sort of an arrange type midi looping would have been great to work on the fly....alas! i really wish it would act as a rewire slave....
