Septic Underground
check the last page, there is someone who modded the complete logic colors into blue http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=272613#272613
TheBlueRoom
Here is a new one I've been working on... (if you've already DL'd this, re-DL it because I've corrected an error on the meter... the -20 marking was off by a pixel. Also, I've added in the remaining GUI elements and updated the switches very slightly Smile ) http://i50.tinypic.com/s3gcqh.jpg L9 GUI 021310.zip

johnnym
Does someone how to get the Logic 8 layout back? I find the Logic 9 skin less easy on the eye.

johnnym
I read through it several times but can't find an answer on how to switch back to the Logic 8 layout in Logic 9.
TheBlueRoom
What aspect are you talking about?
johnnym
Just the way Logic 8's GUI design differs from Logic 9. There's not a whole lot different, but in Logic 9 there's extra colours and i don't want them there. I want Logic 9 to look exactly like Logic 8, but i'm totally new to all this, and wouldn't know where to start.
Zandbass
Hi, I'm new here, and I already found some useful info. Question regarding the meter tiffs: once they're placed in the right folder, how does Logic know to use them? Should they be given the names of the originals? As a new MAC and Logic user, it's not a priority for me, but I do like the traditional meters better.
Jordi Torres
Should they be given the names of the originals? Yes, you either back up the originals and replace them with the modified ones, or you duplicate the Logic Pro app (giving it a new name such as "Logic Pro Custom GUI") and replace the original files with the modified ones there. All the nice folks doing these customizations already have the files with the correct names, so you don't have to worry about renaming them. J. Zandbass
I must be daft. I put the traditional graphics in the right place. The background of the meters looks right, like the screen shot posted above, but what is supposed to be the moving light column is gray instead of light green????? Jordi Torres
These GUI's are designed to work with the linear dB scale, most likely you have it set to exponential. Right click on the scale in the mixer page and change it to "Sectional dB - linear". (Or in Display-Mixer preferences) J.

nyzbeatz
I placed the .tiff files in the resources folder under logic pro package contents, but nothing is changing when I open Logic Pro. What am I doing wrong? I'm a newbie at this so I need it step by step. Please and thank you

Eriksimon
Sorry, I get bored late at night... so here are some meters I made that have the "sweet spot" I like to track in highlighted (between -10 and -20db). Corrected db meter included. I'm fine with these kind of results from boredom. Thanks lots for the sweet sweet spots! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_OTAS9La9QdE/TN6YC9bfZLI/AAAAAAAAAkA/frxqljCMueg/s320/thumbsup.jpg

Wave Mekanix
Does anyone else have memory issues with this stuff? In two different scenarios, I had some glitches and reverted back. In the first I copied the Logic 8 application folder, and replaced a few graphics with some that seemed relatively popular. At some point I was having serious problems with logic timing out with nothing even running. It was happening with both copies of the application, but for some reason when I deleted the copy everything worked fine. hmmm maybe that doesn't really check out. The second time I tried my own, editing the originals in photoshop, dropped just meters this time into Logic 9. This time I noticed a few tiny visual glitches. Could have easily been missed, but if you've ever played metroid for 8 hours straight praying your NES wouldn't freeze, these things strike a nerve. Soon after I had a few crashes. This time I'm 90% sure it was the graphics. I guess the main thing that I'd be wondering about is these graphics tend to be like 10x larger in file-size than the ones already in logic... something to do with the way they export their images for applications. Quantity-wise its just a few dozen bytes, but location allocation-wise I dunno. Anyway, just passing on my strange experiences for posterity. I didn't really follow up cuz for me.. paranoid.. if I think for a sec that I'm getting audio issues, graphics get the axe. But as ugly as Logic naturally is... I'm glad its not like Live. After an hour or so on that program my eyes bug out and I switch skins constantly, made my own skins, its nuts.. I think it has something to do with it being flat flat, and my eyes focus like I'm reading a book.
Wave Mekanix
BTW I was wondering what you do, if anything, to make sure the png's are compatible. I used Photoshop CS5 on my attempt. Do you have to be in a certain color mode before you save it, save interlaced, etc.?
