Min Specs for Logic 8 on a cheap used Mac laptop...

Recommended Posts

Hi- I'm looking for a cheap laptop to use for Logic 8 --

my partner has a modern iMac and a Duet - for the final work -

I just need something cheap to do

elementary pre- production junk on -

(no Audio recording, except scratch guitar tracks-

just midi and internal loops)

I have searched here and at apple-

been hard to find details -

I do know -

1GB of RAM (2GB or more highly recommended)

Mac OS X v10.5.7 or later

for instance -- here's a CraigsList ad=

Great little affordable mac laptop. It's fast enough

for most reasonable (non-gaming) tasks.

Runs the new logic Pro fine (for example).

doesn't mention OS Ver.

Machine Model: PowerBook G4 12"

CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)

CPU Speed: 1.33 GHz

L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB

Memory: 768 MB kinda low

Bus Speed: 167 MHz

---

and one I might get=

I am selling my 12 inch Apple G4 Powerbook laptop,

1Ghz, 133mhz, 40 GB HD, 1.25 GB RAM,

running OSX Leopard ver. 10.5.8

newer OS, more RAM, but a bit slower chip

and here's from Apples site=

"Specs per the Apple Support site as follows:

Minimum requirements to install all applications=

""Mac computer with an Intel processor""

notice there's no Details at all

Will these work OK for entry level stuff?

thanks for any input........

Craig

PS-- Also I asked a week ago about anyone

having any problems with a computer

on a boat, in a salt water humidity environment -

but no responses - just curious

if there's anything to be worried about -

I kinda doubt it, but thought I'd ask

Thanks again
