Velocity Bars - Changing The Look

I think the answer is obvious, but maybe there's a way.

 

I'd love it if I could make the velocity bars in the MIDI editing section vertical, rather than horizontal. Kills me that they're horizontal, as the overlap makes it hard to grab the right MIDI note at times.

 

Any way to change the direction of them?

I'm assuming you mean the velocity bars in the Hyper Draw area? If yes, then no, you cannot make them vertical. If you have multiple notes starting at the same position (i.e. a chord) then you may find it easier to use the Velocity tool in the Piano Roll?

Yea, I figured I couldn't. Since I work mainly with software instruments, it's one of the big things I wish Logic would change.

I almost never use Hyper Draw to edit velocity. Any particular reason you're choosing to use it even though you don't like it? There are many other ways to edit velocity: velocity tool, Event list, Hyper editor, etc...

 

One of the strength of the Hyper Draw area is the line tool - although you can also get that in the Hyper Editor.

I normally use the velocity tool and just hold "Command" while using the mouse to adjust. I use that page to see how close one velocity is to another, etc.

 

It's mainly me thinking it's much easier to see vertical lines. That's what I'm used to from past DAW's (And when I'm working with Ableton). I just like it better.

Almost! Just wish they had the notes above rather than just the velocity. Again, this is just me being picky on something arbitrary, as it doesn't really hurt my workflow at all.

It hurts my workflow. I wish there was an option to change the velocity visual to vertical lines.
