Rev. Juda Sleaze
I've been playing around with 4-6 ESX voices, setting the pitch-bend to 1 semitone, and finding microtonal sweet spots. Some harmonies, in amongst the many horrible ones, sound really nice. Anyone else played around with this, or can anyone point me in the direction of some reading material? organsymphony
care to share some of these nice sounding harmonies? I've never really thought of microtones in the context of actual chords. Just the overall harmony of a melody line pulling against a more conventional harmony. I might give this a go myself, sounds like fun! Rev. Juda Sleaze
Here's a bit of the choir tracks I'm using in a tune I'm writing at the moment. I just bounced them straight out of the project, so they're a bit quiet. EDIT: 0'56" is the most striking bit for me. organsymphony
That is really captivating to listen to! I see what you mean about 0'56". The way it seems to resolve without actually resolving is really tasty for the ears. Thanks for sharing!

Rev. Juda Sleaze
Something else similar that I love, and it uses graphic score methods to achieve it, which I'm a fan of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfBVYhyXU8o
Thetaobera
OMG Penderecki. Yes he is something. That piece always made my skin crawl, which I suppose is the point. Great now I'm going to have nightmares.
