StashO
Hi all, I'm expecting my x1900 vid card in a couple of days, soon to use a second monitor in portrait mode for logic(score) What I need to know if someone can help is, does the ati card take the place of the 6600 or do I install it in the next slot? Thanks

Thanks You probably should replace. There can be speed differences between the PCI(?) lanes. Let's asume that Apple put your 6600 card in the fastest lane. Beware, there are different X1900 cards! Depending on what kind of G5 you have. The difference is in the type of connection. PCI, PCI-express, PCI-X,... (sorry for the lousy english) Jesse
StashO
Hi Jesse, Thanks for your reply. I'll check that out. I take the PCI express by the way. This card just came out. By the way, your english is just fine. I understood it with no problem. Thanks again.

(IMHO only the MAcpro has PCI-EXPRESS? not sure though) If in doubt, you can check www.everymac.com for more info. Jesse
