thesherwood
Hey David, How come when I set certain key commands that match my Final Cut Pro commands....e.g. J, K, L keys for rewind, stop/pause, forward, they don't work. I save them in the key command page... thnx.
shivermetimbers
Hey David,How come when I set certain key commands that match my Final Cut Pro commands....e.g. J, K, L keys for rewind, stop/pause, forward, they don't work. I save them in the key command page... thnx. I haven't tried this, but J,K, and L are already assigned as functions for swapping and looping, maybe that is the reason. Look through the entire key command list and remove what you don't use. '0' is already assigned for the STOP command in logic. 'K' is the command for "Turn loops into real copies" (do you really need that command?). Does this help? Mark
thesherwood
I tried removing the default commands for j, k, l and then reassigning them to the rewind, stop, forward but it doesn't retain them. Is there something more that I must do to override the original default commands other than just removing them in the Key Command window? Thnx. Sherwood I am using Logic 7.2.3 It would make more sense to me to have a print out of the main key commands you are using for Logic and Final cut to have and use as a quick reference. What you do is from LOGIC PRO open Preferences, Key Commands From there I selected the STOP command (in the global section) which is currently assigned to key '0' And this screen popped up when I entered 'J' as the new key command and asked if I wanted to replace it. I entered Replace, and now 'J' is the new Stop command and the Swap Locators no longer has a key command. I tested it in the arrange window and it worked. In the Key Command window (see example) upper right... type in STOP and you will see all the commands and keys assigned to anything that has to do with STOP. You don't need to replace them all, only the one you will use. The same goes for any other commands you wish to change. If you mess it all up too badly, you can always to a default reset. Mark If it doesn't work for you then post the steps you are doing.
