rtcstudio
Hey I so love Logic, and everything is really solid now. I just wanted to start the post with the positive, my rig is really making me happy right now. But having to close a really large orchestral template and open Logic in 32 bit mode JUST to export audio to a movie so the director can see music with dialog and picture is getting to be really tedious. Especially because it always seems like in order to make everything work correctly (like the 32 bit VE Pro that houses all the EW PLAY2's right now) you have to also restart the computer. Otherwise it almost never makes it through the movie bounce. So it eats up a good 30 minutes just to do the movie bounce!! Is 64 bit Quicktime and Exporting audio to movie coming anytime soon? Doug Z
No idea - and agreed it's a weak link in converting everything to a usable 64 bit platform. Possible work around: bounce out a two mix and replace the audio using QT 7 Pro. Could cut the time in half (or more).
rtcstudio
But how would you ensure sync? The reason I use Export Audio To Movie is because with this you can set up a Cycle range for just the scene you're working on. Otherwise you'd have to use the whole movie clip length. So while I could bounce the audio to any length I like, how do I then export that exact length of video? Does QT Pro allow you to save a "range" of a longer video clip with no audio? Sorry, I'm probably missing something, or just not knowledgable of QT features.

rtcstudio
Thanks, Ski! I'll give that a try. Way better than closing and reopening!
bluestarstudios
So a year has passed, and still none of the features unique to 32bit mode have been ported to 64bit mode in Logic Pro 9. The list is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3171 I'm mostly talking about Firewire streaming of video, ReWire support and most importantly for me: Export audio to movie. This last one is crucial for me since I work in film. Is there any way of finding out if Apple is even planning on fixing this? It's most annoying to say the least that we have to do these random tricks to make it work. Thanks d
