Oxygen
I want to assign all the knobs on my midi controller to control things such as panning, volume, etc. specifically for recording automation. I go to command L, click learn mode, rotate the the knob I want and then assign the parameter I want it to control. The problem is that when I go to automation, the knob does not work to control what I tried to make it control. I also am having trouble assigning the record and play buttons on my controller to record and play, respectively. I think the issue might be that there are already a bunch of assignments, is there a way to delete them all and start fresh? I know my question is kinda vague but its really giving me a headache, any ideas are appreciated. I am an Logic Pro 9.
David Nahmani
Quit Logic, delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs and start over. Tweak the parameter on screen first, THEN the knob on your hardware. Quick Guide to using a MIDI controller with Logic For play/stop/record... buttons, open the key command window, select the function, click "Learn Assignment" and press the hardware button.
