update questions

Hi everyone,

 

I reckon my post is best in this category so here I go.

I've been working with a G4 dual 1,42 Ghz. with MacOS 10.3.9

and Logic 7 for quite some time now.

I think it's time to go for a new computer.

I'm thinking about an Intell Quad core. ( the new 8 core is probably overkill right now ).

I upgraded from 6.4 to Logic 7 some time ago.

Here's my most important questions :

1 ) Can I now crossgrade to 7.2 or do I have to buy the whole program again ???

2 ) would I still be able to use the Unitor 8 midi interface ?

Should I be aware of certain pittfalls in upgrading ?

I' m checking all the software for the transition right now.

PS : is there a thread in this forum that handles memory management

and adresses Core audio overload in an extensive way ( eg what do those codes mean ? ) it's my biggest issue rigth now. thanks.
