Robbie Sullivan
I wonder if you could wrap a vst/au with an "effect" that has an adsr envelope, where the envelope functions on a given parameter of the plugin?
Eriksimon
That is called Track Automation. You can draw curves for almost all parameters in plugins, effects and instruments. http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=28%26section=0%26tasks=true

That's too vague. Try explaining exactly what you want to achieve.
Robbie Sullivan
I'm imaging a plugin that is technically a wrapper--just as you might wrap an au in a vst wrapper if your DAW doesn't do au, so would this plugin just "wrap" up an existing plugin. However, instead of doing it as a form of conversion, you would do it to get added functionality out of the plugin. The wrapper has its own envelope, triggered either via midi or audio signal. This envelope is assignable to any parameter of the plugin that could normally be automated. Maybe I'm still not being clear (or thinking clearly!) but I don't really know how to do this.
