And if you want a straight Sf2 player that does what it says without bells and whistles, try SimpleSynth (built by a clever chap called Pete Yandell). It shows the inputs available, but for your use, and most importantly of all it has an option entitled 'Simple Synth Virtual Input.'

 

Open it before Logic, select SSVI as the input, and it will automatically appear in logic as a playback option.

 

I found it invaluable on many occasions.
