mlangsman
Is it possible to copy the Logic DVD's onto an external drive and install from there ? I'd still want to run off my internal drive but Id like to save the hours of installation pain I go through everytime I reinstall my Mac with all those dvds. triplets
You can make images of the Logic DVDs and use those. The normal install process is much safer if not messed with.
David Nahmani
The normal install process is much safer if not messed with. While I generally agree with that comment, for this specific part I have to say I must have installed software (including but not limited to Logic) on literally hundreds of macs from disc images, and never had a problem (except for, sometimes, the images getting corrupted, which means they just won't let you install at all and you'll have to remake the images). It does speed up the process considerably, especially when you have to install on multiple machines, or have to be ready to reinstall in a pinch. triplets
I agree that installing from images is much quicker. I just meant that not messing with the install procedure, regardless if it's discs or images, is preferable. I guess I didn't express it correctly enough.
