Linking and Recording..is their an easier way? [SOLVED]

Hi,

 

I want to be able to see "one track only" in the score editor while recording another part. If I click on the link button in the score editor and change it from yellow to grey (which is off) this works. I can see the part I want to to from the arrange page as one track in the score editor and I can record my next part.

 

The problem is that if I want to see another part I have to first click the link button and set it to yellow and then click in the arrange to select what I want to see notationally then go back and turn the yellow button off and then record.

 

Is there a better easier way? I wish when you had the link button set to yellow and you press record the score editor would not make the track you were looking at disappear.

I think the "same level link" mode is better for that, as it shows you all your tracks simultaneously... depending on your workflow of course. That's the purple mode you get when you single-click the gray link button. You can always click-hold the button to access any link mode directly.
