Can't get the right drums

Hi my style is electro hop. My problem is, I can scroll through numerous drum sounds but I can't get it to sound right with the melody I have already made. Which is a bassline melody and some strings for instance. I can't tell if the drum sound is not sitting right in the mix, or if I got a disease of being too picky. Same with hi hats when I try throwing them in there. Space designer alleviates some symptoms but for the most part I'm stuck. Maybe if I start out with the drum sound I might be able to finish a beat. But otherwise am having trouble.
