Devon8822
I'd like to make two mono tracks into one stereo track so I can use the direction mixer to pan each stereo track. How do I make 2 mono tracks into 1 stereo track?
David Nahmani
Place each mono audio file on a mono track, panned respectively hard left and hard right, and bounce.
Devon8822
hmm that just bounced it to a mono track tho
David Nahmani
hmm that just bounced it to a mono track tho Then you're missing something in my instructions! Try again, make sure you pan the tracks as I said? The only way you can bounce a mono audio file is by first making your stereo output channel strip mono: I don't suppose you did that? The only way you can bounce a stereo audio file that sounds mono (which is what you probably mean) is if you forgot to pan the tracks as I said. That, or you're not working with mono files to start with?
Devon8822
So I select both regions and than click bounce regions? Now when i do that the new track has no audio information in it, its just a blank region.
Devon8822
Ok i got it to work, but I noticed that the volume on the bounce is slightly lower than the original tracks? any ideas why this could be?
triplets
Make sure that Normalize is set to Off in the bounce window.
Yannick
you can select the two tracks and then (with a right mouse click) join them, you will be asked how you want to merge them, and one of the options is "stereo". You will receive one stereo track
markalex905
If anyone is trying this, in the Bounce Dialog box, make sure you select "Include Volume/Pan Automation" or you WILL get a mono bounce.
David Nahmani
If anyone is trying this, in the Bounce Dialog box, make sure you select "Include Volume/Pan Automation" or you WILL get a mono bounce. If you are following my original instruction, you are bouncing the project (Command-B, or File > Bounce > Project or Section). There's no "Include Volume/Pan Automation" setting, and you will always get a stereo file.
markalex905
Understood David. Based on the OP's question, I assumed he meant Bounce in Place. At any rate, problem solved Also - Join works, but automatically deletes the two Mono regions.
avalon
hard to believe that in 2019 you still cannot drag and drop 2 mono files into a stereo track..
