Devon8822
How do i figure out what the optimal buffer size to set is for my system?
michael2
i change mine all the time. I keep it pretty low when recording something like vocals (so there's no latency), and then when I'm mixing I make it high (to make it easier on my computer). David Nahmani
The lower the buffer, the less latency you'll get, but the more CPU it will use. This is good for recording where you want as little latency as possible. The optimal setting depends on how much your computer can handle with the specific project you're working in: at some point, too low a buffer size will results and cracks and pops in the monitoring. Higher buffers are good for mixing, when you need to put less stress on the CPU so you can use it for more plug-ins etc...

David, Don't such resulting cracks and pops get recorded in the track, and not just heard "in the monitoring"
