wilx
I've got supatrigger, buffer overide, and a whole heap of nice toys for this sort of thing, but I want to do something more specific. I want to stutter the volume on the master output track in Logic - just on/off with no inbetween. I could do this with automation, but it's time-consuming and hard to get precisely right. I tried using a MIDI gate, but get stuck when I have to set the output of a MIDI track to the input of the gate - this doesn't seem possible. Although it surely must be? maybe the environment could help?
David Nahmani
If that's a possibility in your workflow, what I would do is first bounce down your mix, then reimport it. Cut a Region of the ending, and slice it using Option+scissors.
ubiqwitus
How about automating the Tremolo pluggin? You have to set the stereophase to 0 so it's not switching L to R. You could automate the bypass and the rate. You can sync to the tempo easily this way too. Later
gsilbers
yes, apple+option and scissors will do auto cuts. if u cut right on the measure of the 1st measire of the file, itll auto cut on everymeasure. and if u cut the 1st 16th note then it will cut 16th note for the whole region. then u just mute with (m) and create cool patterns. David Nahmani
then u just mute with (m) and create cool patterns. Right, or for stuttering what I do is select all the slices and resize to make them shorter.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'll try them all out and see what I come up with.

DJDJ
This is really useful for these kind of situations. Just drag and drop your automation data assigned to whatever parameter you want.... http://www.keyfax.com/keyfax/prdct.html

Do you recommend anything in particular from keyfax?
xs4is
I know this thread is months and months old and stale, but I thought I'd post this great little free stutter AU, aptly titled Stutter. http://www.twofloorsrecords.com/?page_id=49 X
