2 27 inch Apple Display Monitors

I currently have a 27 inch iMac, I'm thinking of getting a second 27 inch display, is this overkill? I currently have a 20 inch hp monitor. It does not look anywhere as good as the iMac's display.

IMO the problems with two 27" screens are:

 

1) difficult to set them up without blocking the path from your speakers to your ears (or having the edges of your displays be so close to that path as to create comb filtering.

 

2) you're spending more time with your head tilted to the right or to the left as with your head straight.

 

3) If you set up both monitors to show you a continuous display, for example of your Arrange area, then the center, which is where you're looking most of the time, is obstructed by the edges of the displays.

 

I'm a one display man myself. I use a single 27" (or is it 28"?) Dell Ultrasharp display.
