venusian
Hello. Can you please clarify how can I improve performance? I have 500 GB HDD and just curious if HDD slicing into system and DATA partion can be helpfull on single HDD. So would slicing help?
involver
No, a partitioned drive will not give you better performance. Two separate physical drives or an SSD would be my recommendation. This is assuming that drive performance is the bottleneck?
venusian
I can actually try going with SSD. That means I should store often used content on SSD? Those are NI libs, WAV libs, Spectrasonics libs.
Eriksimon
Indeed partitioning will even worsen performance, with any disk; and yes, you could store often used samples on it. Just make sure you keep at least 20 % of the SSD free - assuming that it'll also be the system drive.
