Archeopteryx
Mac: 2 X 2.8GHz Quad Core Intel Logic Pro 8.0.2 This is a recent problem - never happened before. All of my soft synths (EFM1, ES1, ES2, Sculpture, etc. and also outboard modules like JV1010 and Proteus 2000) are playing roughly 30 cents flat. Even stranger, they no longer respond consistently to pitch bend. I've tried hyper drawing a pitch correction as a work-around, and the attack of the note may play in tune, but the decay and release snap back to the grossly flat pitch. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or how to trouble shoot it? Thanks,
Eric Cardenas
Hi there Archeopteryx! Welcome to Logic Pro Help. You can attach the Logic file in question to this thread. I'll take a look at it.
involver
Perhaps your the pitch bender on your MIDI keyboard is faulty? Try unplugging the MIDI keyboard or filtering pitchbend messages...
ski
Are you comparing the pitch of your synths to standard tuning, or as compared with existing audio tracks? (I'm suspecting a sample rate mismatch).

Archeopteryx
Solved. It was the pitch wheel on my MIDI controller keyboard. Even though the thing has been power cycled several times, it was still (apparently) stuck and sending bad pitch bend data. The wheel is on a spring. All I did was tweak it and let it snap back, and all the pitch problems instantly resolved. So, Involver hit closest to the bullseye on this one. Thanks for all the tips. I was pretty sure it wasn't sample rate mismatches because this problem was globally affecting the outboard modules and soft synths at the same time. redlogic
GMTA! 8) GMTA OK... So which is it? Green Mountain Transit Agency or Georgia Motor Trucking Association or Georgia Music Teachers Association or Greater Madison Tennis Association I'm thinking Greater Madison Tennis Association. But, knowing ski, it's probably Georgia Motor Trucking Association.
