Pitching audio files (Drums)

I like to pattern my drums using individual audio fils i.e. no sampler. For instance, if i create a snare roll and would like to change the key of the snare over a space of 4 bars how would i do this if I'm using only audi files? Is there a plugin to achieve this apart from importing into a sampler?

Or turn them into apple loops (just drag files from arrange onto loop browser) and then adjust the pitch of each hit using the Transposition in the region parameter box. The adjustments are coarse, but it works in some situations.

Or select the desired samples in the Arrange area and choose Audio > Convert to New Audio File. Then double-click the desired sample to open the sample editor, and choose Functions > Time and Pitch Machine to transpose.
