There has to be a source of power, right? the cabinets can be used to get rid of digital artifacts which can sound really annoying and make the sound warm "old school tape-era"..... logic8mine Posted January 3, 2013 Share Posted January 3, 2013 Thank you. It's just seems counterintuitive, if we are dealing with virtual instruments and, as I would call it, virtual signal flow. The idea, I thought, is to mimic what happens in the real world. That said, I would never have considered going from a guitar to a cabinet, sans amp. It would not have entered my thought process.
