strikingtwice
This isn't terribly important, but i've always wondered, is there much rhyme or reason to the notes display in the midi regions? rhythmically it looks like it is sort of close, but in terms of where the midi info displays in the height of the box, is there any real reasoning to that? Check out the image, the first region is actually lower in pitch than the second one, but their position appears to be reversed? I wanted to know because if there's a useful display reason for it, it could be handy! Edited January 8, 2013 by strikingtwice
David Nahmani
It kinda gives you an idea on the patterns (are the notes going up or down in pitch?) but since it cannot humanely span the entire MIDI Pitch range, at some point it has to jump back up or down. Kinda like if someone asked you to transpose down by 7 semitones, you may end up deciding that it sounds too low so you transpose UP by 5 semitones instead? Logic does that with the vertical placement of MIDI notes on MIDI regions in the Arrange area. Notice that those "decisions" change depending on your vertical zoom level in the Arrange area. strikingtwice
I figured that was pretty much what was happening. Thanks Dave.
