timmyk
Hello, can anyone give me an example for a pivot chord or common modulation in modern pop music? Meaning a modulation where the dominant of one key gets turned into the tonic of the key it's modulated to. Thanks in advance! Tim

A pivot chord is a chord common to both keys...it doesn't change from one type of chord to another. I've only seen dominant chords acting as the tonic chord in blues and jazz. J. timmyk
Okay! Thanks. I thought so too. Any examples for a jazz/blues standard that contains that kind of modulation?

I don't know any...but there probably are some. J.
