Part Box 1/4 note, Key Command, half note instead [SOLVED]

I've been experimenting with the Score Editor and have set up a key command for - Part Box 1/4 note -.

This will select a either 1/4 note, dotted 1/4 note or a 1/4 note triplet in the part box, to be entered with the pencil tool (how I like to do it).

What I've noticed is that entering a 1/4 note or a 1/4 note triplet is fine, but when I select a dotted 1/4 note and enter it, a half note is entered. Even though I can see that a dotted 1/4 is selected in the part box and that I can see very small dotted 1/4 note under the tip of the pencil when I've clicked mouse over the score.

And when I enter a dotted 8th I get a 1/4 note. Is it supposed to be like that?

Thanks

Hi

Care to post a screen grab? Might be quicker than repeated guessing ;-)

Cool, when I now drag the dotted - whole, half, 1/4 and 1/8, I now see the correct note.

However, when I drag the dotted 16th a 16th note shows, this the same the dotted 32nd and the 64th too.

Here's the grab

Hi

You have the Score region quantisation set to 16/24, which means that Logic will only display notes and rests longer than 1/16 or 1/24.

If you want to see 32's and 64's you'll need to change the score quantise to suit.

Quick edit for clarity:

"display notes and rests equal to or longer than"

Ah I see what you mean. I've just set the quantize to 32,96 and can now enter dotted 16ths, right I get you. Thanks CCT
