TC Electronics 2290 - price?

So I'm thinking about getting a TC 2290, but they're not cheap. Following a cursory google glance I've seen a couple listed at $1800 and $2250 respectively.

Does anyone have any tips/knowledge about the current good price / bad price for one of these units?
