How to create a midi track in logic and select a midichannel

Basically i know how to create a midi track but i have all my synths on channel 1 midi out 2. How do i set that up for the midi track?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Usually for multitimbral synths you create a new multi-instrument, which allows you to easily choose which MIDI Channel you send out of your MIDI Interface.

 

Which MIDI Channel comes into your MIDI Interface is of little interest since either way it controls whatever track is record armed.
